Rather than a shawl (which, lets face it would be a huge amount of bright greens and blues next to one's head), I was thinking a beaded scarf. The swatch is not the final pattern, just a test of a simple YO pattern so I could play with bead placement.
Sadly, the beads don't show up so well in my picture, but they look nice in real life.
